St Aidan's Stars

Please do not allow your children on the Trim Trail or Climbing Wall before the start of School or at the end of the day. Governors have had to agree a risk assessment for this equipment which specifies that a member of staff should be on the playground when this equipment is being used. We are not insured for use before or after school.

Breakfast and Afterschool Club:

Reminder: We need 24 hours notice for a cancellation, otherwise you will be charged. Mrs Lea organises staff according to need and it is not economical to pay staff when they are not needed. Payment also needs to be up-front as we are often oversubscribed in Club and are having to turn people away. No payment could lead to your child having no place in Club.

MFL Day:

On Tuesday the 26th of September we will celebrate all things ‘French’ as this is the additional language we teach at St Aidan’s. On this day all children from Nursery to Year 6 can wear red, white and blue. We are sure they will all have a fantastic day.

SEND Award/Nasen Award 2017:

We are delighted to tell you that we have been shortlisted for and Education Award in relation to our support for children with additional needs. Mrs Fisher and  Mrs Ravenscroft will attend the awards ceremony on the 19th of October 2017.

Holiday Club:

Governors have agreed Holiday Club dates for the full academic year. This is attached to this newsletter as we thought it would help with planning your work and holiday schedule. We have the option to operate Holiday Club on the 21st of December and the 22nd of December this year. The 21st of December is an INSET Day but not all staff are involved in this training. If you would like to use Club on these days please speak to Mrs Lea. We would need numbers by Friday the 6th of October.

Careers Day:

You will have seen on ’The Children’s Newsletter’ that we are having a Careers Day on Thursday the 5th of October. On this day we would like all children from Reception to Year 6 to come dressed in an outfit which will represent what they want to be when they are older. Some parents have already offered to come and talk to a class about their job but we need more. If you are an engineer, electrician, plumber, builder, nurse, hairdresser, gardener etc and you can spare even just 30 minutes that day we would be so grateful. The aim of the day is to give children aspirations and understanding of why they are in school.
