Dear Parents/Carers,
A warm welcome back after our rainy summer holidays – I am sure September’s weather will be glorious. It has been fantastic this week to see the children back in school looking smart in their new uniforms and shiny shoes and settling in so well to their new classes.
This term will be an interesting one, with Mrs Ravenscroft in her new temporary post at Newton County Primary, and myself and Mrs Fisher taking on new roles in the school. However it will still be business as usual with us continually striving for improvement in all areas of school life.
As usual a busy term lies ahead for both pupils and staff. We are delighted with our new improved building and look forward to furnishing our new Learning Resource room for all children to access; we will be asking St Helens Library Service to support us with this.
A key area for improvement as part of our Teaching and Learning Action plan is our target setting procedures, which we want to revise to ensure that all pupils know what they need to do to improve. Another project is the introduction of a Learning Code – at the pupils’ request. Mrs Fisher will be leading the writing of this, working with a group of pupils and Governors. We look forward to sharing our successes in these areas with you as the term progresses and hopefully the children will keep you informed of what is going on.
At St Aidan’s we pride ourselves on positive relationships with parents and I would like to remind you to feel free to speak to your child’s class teacher about any issues that arise.
Many thanks for your continued support
Mrs Moore
