Good morning!

Have you had a good weekend? You can let me know through the discussion page on the school website. There'll be a new discussion open each day. Try and get on there so you can keep in touch with your friends and let us know what you've been up to. If you're having trouble logging in, email me at rob.crosby@sthelens.org.uk

Remember that you can set up a blog on the school website once you've logged in. You can also start a scrapbook to upload the work you are doing at home during the school closure. If you're not sure how to set these up, let me know and I'll guide you through it. And here's a bit of prior notice... some homework is coming your way at the end of the week!

Okay then... Today's activities!

Times Tables Rock Stars: we are engaged in battle with Year 6! Come on; we've got to beat them! You all have your login details so play your part and show them that we won't be defeated! The battle ends at 15:30 on Friday afternoon. Do your bit!

Maths: watch this video then have a go at the worksheet. Answers are included. There are further questions to have a go at in the presentation. Some of these might be quite challenging...

English: click here to start a grammar lesson on exploring simple and compound sentences.

Spellings: do these all today or dip in and out over the week.

Reading: this is the most important thing you can be doing each day. And it's fun! I have included some reading activities based upon a story called Jazz Harper - Space Explorer. The whole text is there to download but you don't need all of it today - open the question document and there is a link to a video which will talk you through what you need to do today. Enjoy!

Geography: today's lesson is on grid references. There is a PowerPoint presentation to guide you through what to do. There are then some activity sheets. These range from one star (the most straightforward) to three stars (the most challenging). Complete whichever you'd prefer but use the correct map - map 1 is for the one star sheet, map 2 is for the two star sheet and map 3 is for the three star sheet. An answer sheet is also included.

Have a great day, keep in touch and STAY SAFE.

Mr C.
