This week is all about Julia Donaldson's 'The Gruffalo'.

You can listen to the story here.

This week's phonics sounds are ar, oi, ow and or.

Have a go at the flashcards game on phonics play. Get a grown up to choose 'individual graphemes' and select all the phase 2 sounds and the phase 3 sounds up to 'oi'. These are the sounds that we have already learned so see which ones you can remember.

Today's sound is 'ow' This link will take you to today's lesson. Show your grown up how Mrs Cunliffe clicks on each of the tabs at the top to watch the video, reading, spelling and writing. You can also watch Geraldine to see if she can find anything with the ow sound in.

When you've finished your lesson you complete this sheet or practise writing ow. You might be able to write some words with ow in.

Have a look at the woodland creatures powerpoint and find out about the creatures that live in the woods. See if you can have  ago at reading the sentences. You can then draw your own woodland creature. You can draw one from the Gruffalo story, one from the powerpoint, one that you may have seen or you can make up your own woodland creature. You may want to draw half fox, half snake, it's entirely up to you.

Have a look at the subtraction powerpoint, it's a different one from yesterday. See if you can guess how many objects there will be before they get taken away. Now see if you can complete the Gruffalo number sentences. They are a little harder than yesterday though. You will need to cross off the number of Gruffalos to see how many you have left.

I have added a couple of Gruffalo activities for you too. Have a great day.
