This week is all about Julia Donaldson's 'The Gruffalo'.
You can listen to the story here.
This week's phonics sounds are ar, ur, er and oi.
Have a go at the flashcards game on phonics play. Get a grown up to choose 'individual graphemes' and select all the phase 2 sounds and the phase 3 sounds up to 'ar'. These are the sounds that we have already learned so see which ones you can remember.
Today's sound is 'oi' This link will take you to today's lesson. Show your grown up how Mrs Cunliffe clicks on each of the tabs at the top to watch the video, reading, spelling and writing. You can also watch Geraldine to see if she can find anything with the oi sound in.
When you've finished your lesson you complete this sheet or practise writing oi. You might be able to write some words with oi in.
Have a listen to the Gruffalo story. Talk to your grown up about the story. Have a look at the Gruffalo description sheet. What did the Gruffalo have on his back? What did he have on his nose? Can you write at least one word that describes the parts of the Gruffalo's body? For his back you could write prickles or purple prickles. For his knees you could write black. See if you can write at least one word for each.
Have a look at the subtraction powerpoint, it's a different one from yesterday. See is you can guess how many objects there will be before they get taken away. Now see if you can complete the Gruffalo number sentences. They are a little harder than yesterday though. You will need to cross off the number of Gruffalos to see how many you have left.
I have added a couple of Gruffalo activities for you too. Have a great day.
