Here are this week's activities.

 

Spelling: all of this week's spellings can be found at the bottom of this page.

 

English: all presentations and worksheets can be found at the bottom of this page.

Monday: commas for meaning.

Tuesday: verb prefixes dis-, de-, mis-, over-, re-.

Wednesday: cohesive paragraphs.

Thursday: suffixes -ate, -ise, -ify.

Friday: linking paragraphs with adverbials.

 

Reading: keep on top of your journal entries. Remember to complete entries for anything you've read from school but also any books you might have received for Christmas. And anything else!

You could also click here to complete five Oak Academy sessions on a poem called The Listeners by Walter de la Mare. 

 

Maths: all worksheets and answers can be found at the bottom of this page. Click on the following links to access the teaching videos.

Monday: cube numbers.

Tuesday: multiply by 10.

Wednesday: multiply by 100.

Thursday: multiply by 10, 100 and 1000.

Friday: divide by 10.

 

Science: click here to access the Developing Experts website. You were all given your login details earlier in the year but email me at rob.crosby@sthelens.org.uk if you need them sending out again.

I have scheduled five lessons for this week, each of which should appear on your dashboard when you access it each day.

Monday: understand that a chemical change alters a molecule permanently.

Tuesday: know the difference between elements, compounds and mixtures.

Wednesday: know the difference between physical and chemical change.

Thursday: compare the properties & uses of different materials.

Friday: describe the properties of different materials.
